CRP and colorectal cancer: It has been reported that the geometric mean values of plasma CRP concentrations were significantly higher for 172 colorectal incident cases (2.49mg/L) than for 342 controls (1.96mg/L; p = 0.01).5 Although the assay for serum CRP determination was different from that of the present study, serum CRP levels were not significantly higher for colorectal cancer cases than for controls.
