FASLG and gastric adenocarcinoma: The finding that the women who would eventually develop stomach cancer had a significantly higher level of serum sFas may be consistent with the previous report that showed the significantly higher serum sFas level in gastric adenocarcinoma patients, which was significantly reduced by gastrectomy.11 A statistically significant expression of tumoral Fas ligand with concomitant increment of serum sFas in gastric adenocarcinoma was also demonstrated, which would indicate the increase in the serum sFas level had been due to an existing tumor.
