Multivariate analysis demonstrated a statistically significant and independent lower risk of death for patients whose tumour expresses a positive TTF1 staining (HR=0.40, 95% CI 0.25–0.65; P<0.0001) (Figure 2), and a statistically significant and independent lower risk of death for patients whose tumour expresses higher grade of differentiation (HR=0.64, 95% CI 0.46–0.91; P=0.01).
