The association was strongest and statistically significant in relation to the PNET histologic tumor type specifically (for each additional PON1-108T allele: OR = 2.4; 95% CI, 1.1–5.4; p-value for trend = 0.03, based on 15 PNET cases, including 6 PON1-108TT homozygotes and 7 heterozygotes; data not shown). This evidence concerns the gene PON1 and neoplasm.
