Transgenic rats of this strain, overexpressing the human HLA-B27 and β2-microglobulin proteins, develop lesions of the gastrointestinal system, the joints, the skin, and the gonads, which seem similar to the spondyloarthropathies in humans that have been associated with the HLA-B27 and β2-microglobulin genes [1,2]. Here, HLA-G is linked to spondyloarthropathy.
