In addition to these data for breast cancer, an increase in S100A4 protein expression has been correlated with a worse prognosis for patients with colorectal, gallbladder, bladder, esophageal, non-small-cell lung, gastric, medulloblastoma, pancreatic and hepatocellular cancers (Rudland et al, 2000; Mazzucchelli, 2002; Cho et al, 2003; Heman et al, 2003; Cui et al, 2004; Missiaglia et al, 2004). This evidence concerns the gene S100A4 and breast cancer.
