FGF2 and malignant glioma: Malignant gliomas contain large quantities of VEGF, PDGF, bFGF and HGF, as well as their receptors (Stefanik et al, 1991; Westermark et al, 1995; Arrieta et al, 2002; Steiner et al, 2003); their concentrations are related to vascular density, radioresistance, cell proliferation, degree of malignancy and patient́s survival (Westermark et al, 1995; Gorski et al, 1999).
