Patients with a CK-19 RGE of 0.77 or more had a tumour with a mean Chalkley count of 7.5 ± 1.7 (median 7.0, SE 0.3) compared with 6.5 ± 1.7 (median 6.0, SE 0.3) in patients with a CK-19 RGE of less than 0.77 (Mann–Whitney U-test P = 0.04; Fig. 1b). The gene discussed is KRT19; the disease is neoplasm.
