Our data showing the presence of CXCR5 on endothelial cells in the synovium and the presence of its ligand in this tissue [1,25]suggest that CXCR5 may play an angiostatic role in RA pathophysiology, although the angiostatic effects of CXCL13 could potentially be acting through CXCR3, which is also expressed by the RA synovial endothelium [48,60].
