Treatment with NP-1-blocking peptide resulted in a significant increase in apoptosis of both tumour cells and endothelial cells (4T1, 226.72±38.80%; MDA-MB-231, 126.99±14.49%; HUVECs, 196.77±29.51%, P<0.05) relative to cells treated with a scrambled control peptide (4T1, 88.66±22.77%; MDA-MB-231, 71.45±7.32%; HUVECs, 83.40±8.78%, p<0.05, Figure 3A, B and C, respectively). The gene discussed is NRP1; the disease is neoplasm.
