TP53 and neoplasm: When analysing clinical outcome according to p53, p53R2, and pathological response to CRT in 36 patients who underwent surgery, the 5-year survival rates of the patients with p53 (−) and p53 (+) tumours were 59.2 and 23.1%, respectively (P=0.0145), p53R2 (−) and p53R2 (+) tumours were 50.6 and 33.3%, respectively (P=0.0399), and grade 2 or 3, and grade 1 tumours were 71.4 and 23.5%, respectively (P=0.0006) (Figure 2).
