Specifically, while all but one of the tumours in both independent series (microarray, RT–PCR) that strongly expressed ΔNp63 coexpressed S100A2, there were a number of tumours (10 out of 37 and six out of 40, respectively) that showed over-representation of S100A2, in the apparent absence of ΔNp63 elevation. This evidence concerns the gene S100A2 and neoplasm.
