In this report, we show that although both E2 and resveratrol stimulate mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK; ERK1/2) activity in an additive manner in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, E2inhibits resveratrol-induced serine phosphorylation and acetylation of p53, as well as oligonucleotide binding of p53. The gene discussed is WNK2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
