Several studies have shown that elevated circulating C-reactive protein concentrations are associated with poor survival in patients with colorectal cancer (McMillan et al, 1995; Nozoe et al, 1998; Nielsen et al, 2000; Wigmore et al, 2001; McMillan et al, 2003; Chung and Chang, 2003). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and colorectal cancer.
