We identified a number of overexpressed genes previously associated with ovarian and other cancers including VEGF, osteopontin (OP) (Kim et al, 2002), preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma (PRAME) (Steinbach et al, 2002), TACSD2 (or GA733-1) (Shetye et al, 1989; Szala et al, 1990) and prostasin (PRSS8) (Mok et al, 2001) (Figure 2D). This evidence concerns the gene SPP1 and cancer.
