We describe that expression of an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP)–MTA1 fusion protein in the human pancreatic carcinoma cell line PANC-1 resulted in nuclear localisation of the protein and caused a marked enhancement of cellular motility and invasion through epithelial barriers and, at the same time, a reduction of cell proliferation. This evidence concerns the gene MTA1 and exocrine pancreatic carcinoma.
