Multiple splice forms of Survivin have been described in normal and tumour cells and Survivin has also been localised to multiple subcellular compartments within the cell, including the nucleus and cytoplasm, suggesting that it probably has more than one function (Fortugno et al, 2002; Krieg et al, 2002; Mahotka et al, 2002a,Mahotka et al, 2002b). The gene discussed is BIRC5; the disease is neoplasm.
