These three cytokines together stimulate all cells known to be involved in the induction of antitumour responses: IL-2 stimulates T cells (Kolitz et al, 1987; Thompson et al, 1988), IFNα induces better effector cell functions and a higher expression of adhesion molecules and MHC class I on tumour cells (Knop, 1990; Luft et al, 1998), while GM-CSF gives proliferation and differentiation of DC (Ragnhammar, 1996).
