Additionally, we showed that most human gastric cancers (15 out of 23, 65.2%) with cyclin D2 promoter hypermethylation had no cyclin D2 mRNA expression whereas the majority (21 out of 24, 87.5%) of tumours with unmethylated cyclin D2 promoter region had cyclin D2 expression.
