The aberrant transcripts of the fragile histidine triad (FHIT) gene have been identified in some cancers including cervical cancer and CINs (Negrini et al, 1996; Ohta et al, 1996; Sozzi et al, 1996; Virgilio et al, 1996; Greenspan et al, 1997; Hendricks et al, 1997; Hadaczek et al, 1998; Nakagawa et al, 1999; Segawa et al, 1999). Here, FHIT is linked to cervical carcinoma.
