FLT4 and neoplasm: VEGF-D, known as c-fos-induced growth factor (Orlandini et al, 1996), also binds to and activates VEGFR-2 and VEGFR-3 (Achen et al, 1998; Baldwin et al, 2001), suggesting a role for VEGF-D in tumour angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis.
