A positive association of VEGF-C protein levels with lymph node metastasis has been found in a variety of carcinomas including stomach, lung, colorectal, oesophageal, prostatic and endometrioid (Tsurusaki et al, 1999; Yonemura et al, 1999; Akagi et al, 2000; Niki et al, 2000; Hirai et al, 2001; Kajita et al, 2001; Kitadai et al, 2001). Here, VEGFC is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
