Molecular abnormalities include expression of oncogenes, such as Ki-ras, c-myc, c-erb-B-2 and bcl-2, and tumour suppressor genes, such as p53, Rb and FHIT (fragile histidine triad) in lung cancer (Otterson et al, 1998; Salgia and Skarin, 1998). Here, TP53 is linked to lung cancer.
