CCND1 and breast neoplasm: The action of cyclin D1 in cell cycle control, its role in murine mammary gland development and oncogenesis, its altered expression in half of all human breast tumours and in the earliest stages of breast oncogenesis, as well as its apparent involvement in the action of oestrogen, have led to numerous studies to ascertain whether cyclin D1 may serve as a biological marker in breast cancer.
