Whilst our data revealed no Bcl-2 modifications in these murine P388 leukaemia cells after exposure to either vinflunine or to taxol, similar treatments of human CEM leukaemia cells clearly resulted in Bcl-2 phosphorylation, suggesting that the apoptotic signal triggered by vinflunine in these P388 cells is not mediated via Bcl-2 phosphorylation.
