Results of the current study show that serum concentrations of either VEGF or b-FGF are increased in the serum of stage A CLL patients but only serum levels of VEGF reflect clinico-haematological features of tumour mass such as advanced Rai clinical substages, high PB lymphocytosis, increased β2-m and diffuse BM histology. This evidence concerns the gene FGF2 and neoplasm.
